Abdikadir Dayib Askar is the first-born and only son of the late Dayib Askar. He was born in Hargeisa Group Hospital on 21st April 1986.
Mr. Askar attended Ahmed Dhagah School for his primary and intermediate studies. He also studied at SOS Herman Gmeinar Sheikh Secondary School. Later on, he moved to Uganda to pursue his higher studies and was then enrolled into Kampala International University where he completed his A levels and obtained bachelor’s degree in Public Administration.
Mr. Askar hold an MA in International Relations and Diplomacy from Cavendish University and also obtained advanced diplomas in administrative law, computer science, project planning and research studies from Makerere University- Uganda. He has a Postgraduate diploma in Peace and Conflict Studies from University of Hargeisa.
As per today, he is the Communications Lead at Adams Smith International, an international consultancy firm. Prior to this, he served as the Documentation and Communication Lead on Ethiopia and Somaliland Cross border Project at Oxfam International and was the Communication and Knowledge Management Officer at Health Poverty Action (formerly known as Health Unlimited). In a nutshell, Askar has over five years experience in strategic communications and media consultancies.
Mr. Abdikadir is currently living in Hargeisa with his wife, Zamzam Hassan and his two sons, Dayib and Mohamed, and his daughter Amiirah.
